Why I love no code

💬 The No Code movement is growing and is definitely one of the most talked about topics within tech and startups in the past couple of years. If you're on Twitter at all, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

There's never been a better time in terms of accessibility, ease and reduced costs to build a startup or tech business. In fact, it's only going to get even easier.

Long gone are the days where you need to spend a lot of money for developers. People have been building amazing products in just a matter of days... sometime even hours and it starts to generates revenue. Crazy when you think about it.

Additionally, creating these MVP's or developing quick prototypes has become even more accessible, thanks to these platforms.

I'm not a no code expert myself or thought leader in the space, but I curated these no code tools and resources below which are some of the best for learning how to build no code applications & connect with other no code founders. 😍

I've personally used many of these (and still to this day) for the startup I'm Head of Marketing & Growth for, as well as building side projects/businesses.

Learning some of these platforms in depth, such as the likes of Webflow, Airtable and Notion, has been personally one of the best personal investments I've made. I recommend testing and trying out each of the platforms below for two reasons - firstly, you will have a lot of fun and secondly, you will learn a lot and think about solutions for your business or startup that you may have not thought about before.

Here are my favourite no code tools

Whether it be automations/workflows, landing pages, applications, payment gateways, email newsletters (the list is endless)... no code tools can help you build essentially anything. Here are my favourite 34 no code tools. Enjoy 🙂

PS. These are in no particular order of favouritism.

1. Webflow

Webflow hands-down is my favourite website builder (this whole website + resources I've built across the site is Webflow). It's incredibly powerful and has one of the best online communities behind a website builder.

Previous to Webflow, building high-quality websites hasn't been an easy process, unless you have the ability to do custom code. For example, dealing with themes on wordpress, sometimes breaking them, or needing to know more on PHP.

Now, it's easy whether you're a beginner, founder, marketer or designer to build amazing looking websites which don't look like a "Wordpress" or "Wix" theme.

These are the reasons why I love Webflow (and you should too!);

- Clean interface
- Amazing tutorials + blog content
- Matured community through Twitter + dedicated forum
- Big library of templates - which all are amazing and can really accelerate new website builds (great for beginners to also learn)
- Advanced customisation which is easier to implement

2. Paperform

Paperform is an easy-to-use form builder which gives you the ability to build advanced forms, surveys & workflows without the need to write code.

You can build forms for pretty much anything. Whether that be taking online bookings, collecting payments (subscriptions with Stripe as an example), or collecting data such as email or survey questions, Paperform can do so.

Over 6000+ businesses use the platform and what I love that they have on the website is this template library which is one of the best form libraries I've seen. This shows the possibility of what Paperform can do.

In summary, why I love Paperform and why you should check it out;

- Easy-to-use interface & UX
- Custom variables & workflows
- Embed forms with ease
- Integrations with payment gateways such as Stripe + Paypal

3. Zapier

If you're a marketer or in the No Code world, you definitely would have either used Zapier or at the very least heard of this amazing no code tool.

Zapier is my go-to no code platform for automating any workflow that I need as part of my marketing stack for side projects, startups I work on, companies I help consult or for any use case really for business operations.

Zapier is easily in my top 10 tools of all time for running a business or startup. What's amazing is the ever evolving library of "Zaps" or tools they work with to form integrations between various tools.

Whether you're a beginner or advanced with automation + processes, this is why I love Zapier + should consider for your projects;

- Huge library of "Zaps" to explore (and growing each day)
- Easy UX to understand how tools talk to each other
- Even with complex workflows, you save a lot of time
- Lots of tutorials + videos
- Deep community of experts to help + view their workflows

4. Bubble

Now if you want to build amazing no code platforms and applications, then you need to check out Bubble. If you've been wanting to build an MVP, or bootstrap a startup, then Bubble is a good solution for you.

Working with developers can be a frustrating process if you're non-technical, and often a very costly process. With Bubble, you can build complex applications in a matter of non time. The opportunity cost of using Bubble to build apps far outweighs going through developers if you're an early stage business.

Bubble has powerful "drag & drop" features which feel quite similar to the experience of using website builders.

At first, it does feel like a bit of a learning curve (I'm still learning myself), but I see the huge potential this platform can provide and it's only going to improve with more users and more maturity.

In fact, they have an amazing showcase of real apps being built using Bubble. Many of which are very impressive. In addition, there are many tutorials, including the likes of building clone sites like Product Hunt Facebook, Twitter & others.

Why I love Bubble;

- Whilst a little learning curve at first, once you get the hang of using the platform, it's actually a really fun experience + you learn a lot about how application features work
- Great Academy resource to build clone projects
- Great onboarding experience once you sign up
- Similar to Webflow, there's a template marketplace to help speed up project development
- Low-cost to build products

5. Utilize

Utilize is a really cool application I came across not long ago which enables people to build mobile apps using spreadsheets. There are a few options like this on the market, but is more focused on businesses/B2B audiences looking to improve their day-to-day workflows and operations.

You can create applications for use cases such as warehouse management, task management, employee timesheets, QA checks as part of a production line, internal/external CRM's, and so much more. Just check out the app directory which highlights some of the possibilities.

If you're a business that's scaling or needing to find a better way to manage your sheets with a better interface, here are some key reasons why you should test out Utilize;

- Great for building internal applications which your staff can use without having to manually update spreadsheets
- Control what various users see and can edit with permissions
- Keep data clean and consistent across your databases (we all know how messy sheets can get)

6. Voiceflow

I haven't had a real/live use case to use Workflow as of yet, but this is at the top of my list to use when it comes to building a voice app for Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

After playing around with this no code platform, it feels like using the likes of tools that help build chatbots (like Manychat) and feels quite easy to build conditional-based voice apps.

It uses "Drag-and'Drop" with pre-defined features to help accelerate the process of building a working voice app. In addition, they have a good resource of tutorials to learn how to use Workflow effectively.

Here's why you should consider Voiceflow if you're wanting to build a voice app;

- Good UX with the interface. If you've built chatbots before, you should pick this up quickly
- Great YouTube channel of video tutorials to accelerate users' learning
- Affordable pricing and good value for a no code platform

7. Glide

An awesome no code tool I love is Glide. Glide app is one of the best Google Sheets to App platform out there on the market (there are a few that have been released recently).

With Glide, you can build no code mobile apps in just a matter of 5 minutes (as it says on the site) and I can attest that this is certainly possible.

To accelerate your learning + use case to developing an app, Glide has an amazing template library where you can develop mobile apps and web applications for any category. Templates include CRMs, directories, planning, remote work and more. It's super cool! You can also see which templates have been "copied" most to see what others have built using Glide.

The main reasons why I love Glide as a no code platform;

- Great internal UX + explanations of how to use the app
- Google sheets the backend for data - this speaks for itself. Really cool + so easy to add data.
- Affordable pricing
- Big selection of templates to choose from

8. Unstack

With over 4000+ users, Unstack is a powerful, yet simple-to-use website & landing page no code platform & builder. Whilst I will always stick to Webflow personally, I can see really good use cases for marketers (including myself) to quickly spin out landing pages.

What makes Unstack different to other no code website builders for marketers, or custom solutions like Wordpress, Clickfunnels, etc is the ability to build websites + landing pages with a lot of growth tools built in, such as A/B split testing (as they say on the site, replaces the need for Optimizely).

I personally haven't used Unstack for a real-case scenario as of yet, but having played with this no code tool so far, I can see this can provide a lot of power + save a of a lot time for marketers wanting to build landing pages + websites that convert. Adding integrations such as Stripe, Klaviyo, etc are also very easy to do. Good amount of templates to choose from also.

Why you should consider trying out Unstack;

- Quick & easy to build landing pages. Changing copy, uploading assets is a breeze.
- Add integrations seamlessly
- Good internal analytics, especially with A/B split-testing for campaigns, etc
- Can build funnels pretty quickly compared to other no code tools

9. Obviously AI

This is a really cool no code platform that replaces the need for a Data Science team (especially for early stage startups that can't afford Data Science capabilities #notcheap). Meet Obviously AI.

With Obviously AI, you can run complex ML predictions, analytics and look at outcomes of data in very little time (on their site they even say in just one click). It means that even someone with no data science or even deep analytics experience, can run models with ease and gain valuable insights.

Pricing is affordable and over 1500+ users, this is something startups should check out. The case studies across various business verticals shows how Obviously AI can help produce outcomes from data that can lead to actions.

Why you should test out Obviously AI;

- Build out predictions with ease - platform has a great UX
- Great no code tool solution for doing ML and predictions
- Check out the blog for good tutorials

10. Airtable

Airtable is one of the most powerful no code tools which gives you the ability to do anything that your heart desires - it's like Google sheets on steroids. Don't believe me? Just check out the amount of templates that you can choose from to simplify + improve business processes, build no code apps, and so much more!

I use Airtable a lot, and one of the startups I work and advise for loves this no code platform too. Personally one of the biggest reasons why we use Airtable is due to the fact we use Google Sheets/Excel for lots of things (and still do daily), but still run into some limitations to build out functionality around automation and processes for marketing initiatives. A classic example is custom content calendars, but with our own formula and flavour. We just needed something with extra superpowers. We use it for marketing, campaign calendars, blog content + much more. Many people use project management tools like Asana or Trello, but in some cases we want so other customisation that others don't have.

With Airtable being so powerful, you can even use it as a database for building apps. I tested this with a good friend where we built a tools resource and then use Vue.JS on the front-end. It was a lot of fun building.

Why I love Airtable as one of my favourite no code tools;

- A more powerful solution than Google Sheets/Excel, but with a cleaner UX and easy-to-use advanced customisation.
- Like most no code platforms mentioned on this list, they have a big large library of pre-made templates and community templates - so many to choose from to use right away
- Pricing is startup-friendly

11. Carrd

Whilst there are so many options for building websites out there on the market, I really like what Carrd has to offer in order to build responsive sites fast.

It's super fast to build one-page websites and really like the simplicity of the platform. It's definitely a nice approach compared to the other website builder options which are always full with custom options or advanced features which sometimes can be confusing.

If you're not a marketer, designer or developer and need to build a site which is easy to edit, then Carrd is a great option. I mean, the pricing is amazing too with it being only $19 per year... that's less than $2 per month.

Building a new site? This is why you should consider Carrd;

- Dirt cheap pricing (amazing)
- Simple to use if you're non-technical/non-designer
- Great pro features with embeds/widgets, forms + more!

12. Umso

Umso is another solution in the no code market for building landing pages fast, with a focus on beautiful design.

What I do like about Umso compared to other landing page/website builders is the process when creating a new site + a powerful visual editor which is easy to use.

A key difference I can see with Usmo is the pricing. As I write this (Nov 2020), for $29 per month for 3 sites with lots of great features, definitely appeals to me as a marketer & indie maker.

Reasons to consider Umso;

- Powerful visual editor + friendly UX
- Great pricing when having multiple websites
- Good "Add Ons" to add to websites

13. Sheet2Site

Another amazing option on the market to build websites + applications using Google Sheets is Sheet2Site. What's really cool is that they've released "Chart2Site" where you can convert your spreadsheet data into a responsive live web chart. #soawesome

Sheet2Site has a very easy UX that anyone wanting to build a website can do it. If you check out the Showcase section, you can see the various websites built from Job boards to Employee directories + many more.

If you're working on side projects or an indie hacker wanting to work on a new project, then this is a good option to check out. Pricing is fantastic and it's very fast to build.

Why consider Sheet2Site;

- Simple to use
- Now has "Chart2Site" - I'll be personally doing something with this soon enough
- Lots of uses cases for portray data in a friendly way for both internal and external use cases
- Great pricing to host 3 websites

14. Notion

If you know me personally, you're not surprised that I've included Notion on the list. This is one of my top no code tools which is amazing + use daily for essentially everything in life - both personal & work.

You can use Notion for whatever your heart desires. It's perfect as a project management tool, stores documents, notes + more. It's very much become part of my workflow + in many ways my mind but in a digital format.

What's incredible about Notion is the amount of community support + use cases it has. In fact, you can even use Notion as a website/landing page, using tools like Super.

Much more recently as well, there's lots of people on Product Hunt + Twitter building open source templates & resource sites such as Notion Pack.

Why I love Notion (and why you will too);

- An all-in-one tool for everything to run your startup and can be used across all departments
- Very easy-to-use with a nice drag and drop interface
- Low-cost pricing for the return of product features it provides

15. Substack

If you're in the startup world and haven't heard of Substack before, you must be living under a rock. This has been a platform which has grown leaps and bounds for new creators, startup founders, and venture capitalists, to build newsletters that generates both paid and non-paying subscribers.

What I really do like about Substack is that it's without a doubt the fastest way of building a newsletter where you can build your own community + charge for it. Not only that, they make it so easy. Under "Switch to Substack", you can import via a URL your newsletter from the likes of Mailchimp + other platforms (pretty neat growth hack in my opinion).

With Substack, you will also have a website for all your posts + have the ability to control what free users see and of course your paid users. It's been a huge success for one of my favourite marketers Lenny Rachitsky success who uses Subtsack to share his amazing marketing content. Now makes a full-time income (if not a lot more now) by sharing his newsletter.

16. Gumroad

Gumroad is a great platform which serves the creator market to accept payments for their creations without the hassle of setting up an eCommerce store.

This no code platform is simple to use and setup, packed with features to help you build a following, run membership/subscription capabilities & more. It's one of the most popular no code solutions on the market for creators and anyone selling info products.

Essentially, you can use Gumroad for anything that you want to sell. It's perfect if you're a creator wanting to focus on single items without the need for a website. Some of the top creators in the startup world have been recently turning to Gumroad from what I have seen on Twitter for selling eBooks + info products.

Why you should consider Gumroad;

- Sell anything you want in a matter of seconds and start accepting payments
- Easy to setup with minimal design work needed
- You can build a following, collect emails (which you can send emails too later on), and setup a subscription/membership.

17. Makerpad

When it comes to no code education & resources, you can't look past Makerpad. Makerpad is the premier community for no code makers and those wanting to learn more about building projects fast without writing code.

I signed up as a lifetime member to Makerpad and was one of the best purchases I have made. The team have done an amazing job curating the best tools + have built a big collection of resources from video tutorials on workflows, tutorials, bootcamps + more.

I've currently been working on the Automation at Work bootcamp and have been loving it. They also have an awesome tools marketplace which includes specific tutorials, workflows & more.

In addition, they have a thriving community with other makers. Highly recommend joining as a paid user.

18. Buy Me a Coffee

Another very creative & simple solution for internet creators to accept payments is Buy Me A Coffee.

In fact, I find it's very similar to Gumroad but with more simplistic features for creators. You can build your own page, and embed a button on your website for audiences to be directed to that page. Just love the concept of something being so easy to perform an ideal action.

You can create single payment options as well as create a subscription/membership. Really cool if you're a content creator or building a newsletter.

Why I love using Buy Me A Coffee;

- Great name + catchy
- Very simple to use + great UI
- Setup in a matter of minutes

19. ConvertKit

ConvertKit is definitely an email marketing platform that is giving Mailchimp a run for its money in the early-stage founders and creator target markets (and good % of established businesses). ConvertKit just keeps sweeping up new users & growing each month now turning over $2M MRR.

ConvertKit is an inspiring story I have been following for a while now and recommend any indie maker or founder to look more into. The early stages of Nathan Barry's (The founder) journey to PMF, from side hustle and then his growth over the years is an intriguing read and inspiring. A display of grit and continuously tweaking and optimising until a breakthrough. Read more about his journey on his blog.

Now back to why ConvertKit is an amazing no code platform for founders and creators. From what started as an email marketing platform, has now turned into a creator's funnel builder. With ConvertKit, you can build landing pages through the drag and drop interface, build beautiful, mobile-optimised emails, sell products, automate sequences + journeys and integrate other amazing tools to create your desired workflow and journey for customers.

I've played around with ConvertKit through a mates account and can say the interface is amazing + functionality. The pricing as well is really good with the features it can provide. I'm still to use ConvertKit as a paid platform for my personal use case but will be very soon as my go-to for a new project I am working on :)

Why I really like ConvetKit and why you should consider;

- Easy UX + UI
- Great pricing for the features + functionality it provides
- Easy setup for robust marketing funnel experiences
- Advanced segmentation, tagging + more.

20. Coda

Coda reminds me very much of Notion and have to say it's a very nice no code platform with great UX + UI. They are growing strong with a recent series C round (as I write this in Nov 2020) and used by some of the world's top startup companies. Not to mention, Coda is backed by some incredible investors including Reid Hoffman.

Coda is a platform that brings together all docs, spreadsheets, data + more into one easy place to store. It's great for growing companies wanting to allocate key information in one place for various team members and departments.

What I really like about Coda is some of it's automation + formulas features for use with charts and tables. The UX of these features look great too.

Why is Coda in this No Code list? It's great platform to bring all key assets of running a startup or business into one place, especially pulling in other software integrations without complex setups. The functionality + ease of setup makes it a lot faster to have features which typically requires custom code to setup.

Reasons to consider Coda for running your business or startups;

- Decent pricing per user
- Rich document gallery to show examples of what you can do
- Automation + Formula features for data = awesome
- Good video courses to understand how to get the most out of Coda

21. Parabola

Parabola is a powerful platform that automates key workflows for startups and eCommerce. On their site they mention "At Parabola, we're bringing the power of programming to everyone", and that's exactly what they do. As someone as a marketer ands whilst I have front-end experience, the time + effort it takes to connect integrations together can be enduring. However, Parabola makes this easier.

Parabola has a great user experience which is key for non-technical marketers and founders. There are plenty of integrations with popular platforms you most likely use, so getting started to run key automations + processes in your business is super easy.

In addition, they a great library of "recipes" with pre-defined automations you can use right away.

A key feature which I personally love is the ability to do scheduling of recipes/automations + the ability to see real-time data in a spreadsheet format based on those automations. This is great as easier to troubleshoot if data isn't feeding in properly.

Why Parabola is amazing + you should consider trying;

- Huge database of "recipes" to kickstart key automations in just a matter of clicks
- Great UX within the platform
- Great community, tutorials + more
- Good list of key software integrations

22. Adalo

Building No Code Apps has never been easier with Adalo as a platform of choice. You can build functional, advanced apps with Adalo which honestly can replicate custom code apps you may pay thousands for with a developer.

The platform has rich features including the ability to build apps which incorporate purchasing of goods/services, connect/chat with friends, book appointments, register for events, assign/complete tasks + much more. You can build directories, appointment app + more.

I haven't built an app which is customer facing as of yet, but I have loved playing around with the platform so far. Really clean user experience and reminds me of the flow of building chatbots which I have done personally many times before. It's fairly easy to use but where I can see it becoming a bit complicated is around the database collections. Although, you will quickly get your head around it.

There are some awesome resources as well to building apps with Adalo, including a big template library in addition to a new marketplace which consists of components you can connect with your app. It's fairly new as I write this in Nov 2020, but I can see a big potential with this. Also, you can connect API's when you upgrade your plan.

Want build an app? Here's why Adalo is a good option;

- Good user experience + resources to learn
- Great pricing to build, host & launch apps to the public
- Good fucntionality + features
- Ever-growing template library and marketplace of components to connect to your app

23. Scapic

Scapic is certainly a tool you need to check out if you're in eCommerce. Product images + descriptions as we know are crucial to ensure we do our best that it's high-quality + engaging to gove ourselves the best chance of converting them. But, what happens when we make it 3D?

Yes, Scapic provides a nocode integration as a solution to then turn product pages into AR (Augmented Reality) experiences. No elaborate photo shoots required either. Just by integrating the tool with your platform of choice for eCommerce (e.g. Shopify, Wix, etc), you can create upgraded product experiences on your site. Honestly, this is just super cool.

I'm not 100% sure on the pricing (have to schedule a demo), but this would be more appropriate for stores with decent MRR/ARR. However, if you're an eCommerce owner doing at least average sales of $10k per month, it's definitely worth looking into as a solution. With boosted conversions and reduce abandonment + returns, it's worth exploring.

Why I think Scapic is really cool as a solution for eCommerce owners;

- Provide a different experience for consumers
- Increase conversions + reduce product returns
- Create AR experiences with ease without needing a developer

24. Universe

This is a really cool tool for those wanting to build a website super fast. What's even more cool about Universe? You can build a site on your mobile phone! In just minutes :)

Whilst there are a so many website builders on the market to choose from, I really like what Universe are doing + the type of customer persona that would appeal to this product. For me, this would appeal to creators/influencers. Whilst you have the likes of Linktree (see in many Instagram bio's), you can build a custom design tailored to the look of the creator + incorporate one tap checkout.

I have good hopes for Universe to do really well. Whilst it hasn't picked up mainstream as of yet, I think the platform can get there. However, what can you actually achieve from a design? You can check out the examples of websites on Universe in their explore section.

Why I like Universe;

- You can build a cool website on your mobile phone
- One-tap checkout - great CX especially for creators/influencers to share on channels scuh as Instagram which the whole experience of focused on mobile
- UX is simple

25. Airslate

Another Automation workflow tool on the market is airSlate. I haven't used this personally as of yet but looks promising for some of the workflows it provides.

With airSlate you can create workflows across contract management, web forms, analytics + more. They have a good library of flow templates & bot templates to develop key automations.

From what I can see with airSlate, there's a big focus on integrations with platforms such as Salesforce, NetSuite and Microsoft. Hence, this would be more skewed towards larger businesses/corporations.

Features that airSlate has worth considering for your business;

- Good pricing model + affordable
- Plenty of flow templates & nocode bot automations to quickly implement within key integrations

26. Internal

Internal is a new platform I've discovered recently that has a lot of potential especially for growth marketers like me. This platform allows you the ability to build internal tools incredibly fast and enables you to perform some key actions + dashboards in a matter of clicks.

The headline on their site "Free your engineers from tnternal tools" just says it all. Working in startups or growing companies, there always the use case to develop tools to save costs internally or sometimes the fact that there aren't platforms out there that solve a particular problem internally.

You can use Internal for any process within your company. Whether that be client onboarding, data mapping, user management, content management & more.

Why you should check out Internal;

- Build internal tools faster + easier without annoying your developers
- Good pricing for fast-growing startups or established companies
- Good UX

27. Bravo Studio

This is a really cool platform I see a lot of potential for + perfect for me as I;m a daily user of Figma. With Bravo, you can turn your Figma app prototype into an iOS and Android App.

The process from Figma to iOS/Android can be done in a matter fo 4 steps. Just need to import your designs into Bravo previewer, connect Airtable or Rest API, then request app packages and then you're live.

The good thing with Bravo is the ability to control the design process rather than limitations of what other "app builder" tools provide when building these no code apps. I haven't personally built an app as of yet with Bravo but this would be a leading choice based on the ability to do custom design in Figma.

Reasons why you should check out Bravo;

- Control design in Figma
- Just a matter of a few steps from design to live iOS or Android app
- Affordable pricing - in fact, you can build multiple apps for a small monthly fee

28. Sharetribe

It's never been easier now to build an online marketplace. With Sharetribe, you can build marketplaces fast + a lot cheaper compared to hiring developers.

When it comes to building a marketplace platform, there's a lot of features + functionality to take into account in order to provide a quality CX. Sharetribe helps significantly with being able to provide right off the bat as soon as you sign up with order flow capabilities, profiles/listings, availability/bookings, search engine & filtering, payments, reviews & interactions + much more.

What I also like about Sharetribe is their pricing model. They only charge you more as soon as you grow, which is perfect rather than paying just for specific features.

In addition, they do have two options when signing up and using Sharetribe. You can either do either their "Go" option or their "Flex" option. With "Go", it's easy and fast to setup and get a marketplace live with minimal effort. With "Flex", you can do more advanced custom work that fits within your needs.

Why Sharetribe is an awesome platform;

- Very easy to build + kickstart and online marketplace
- Good pricing model
- Great UX
- Feature-rich to ensure users can provide their customers a great CX that any marketplace should possess

29. Integromat

Integromat has been often described as the "enterprise" version of Zapier which has over 10,000+ customers and was recently in October 2020 just sold for over $100 million. Whilst Zapier is incredible for any size of business, there's a lot of benefits to integromat which can help you build some incredible workflows.

One of the key features I like about Integromat is the ability to watch real-time data going throughout each steps of the workflow. Definitely would be amazing when you have a lot of events + users/triggers happening. There are some other advanced features that are really valuable including scheduling, unlimited steps, routers, iterators, functions + more.

The pricing for the basic plan is very attractive for any sized business with access to key features that typically may see for higher priced plans. On the website they have an amazing template library that you can quickly choose automated workflows to speed up the process of implementation.

Why you need to consider Integromat;

- Good pricing for the "Basic" package + above with access to advanced features
- Good template library of existing workflows for quick implementation
- Plenty of video + content tutorials to get new users to understand how Integromat works + tutorials on more complex workflows

30. Pory

We've seen a few products which incorporate the likes of Google Sheets into creating websites, however, Pory is a website builder that let's you create sites with another popular tool, Airtable.

Similar to other website builders that use Google Sheet as their backend, you can build sites such as directories, job boards, marketplaces, event listings + more. The platform overall has a great UX and using Airtable as a tool in the first place is easy to use.

I really like Pory in particular with their transparency around their product roadmap. It's one of the better roadmaps I have seen for similar based products. I'm excited about the upvoting + comment features. Being bale to then build community based sites for niches is something which could be a strong USP for Pory as more people are realising that building community around their industry/business is a great growth strategy.

What I think Pory is amazing;

- Good pricing, especially if you want to build out multiple sites
- Great features coming up on the roadmap + love their transparency
- Template library
- Aussie makers ;) #woo

31. Thunkable

If you're wanting to build a no code mobile app, then meet Thunkable. As we know, building any sort of application takes time and you normally would have to learn programming or outsource to developers, which isn't cheap. Not to mention, the amount of planning that takes place.

With testing out Thunkable with a friend, it's a bit of s learning curve at first, but once you get used to the platform, there's a lot of potential to build awesome no code solutions and projects. What I do like that they have done is includes video tutorials (which is pulled in from their YouTube page) to understand specific features/tools to help build your app. Something I think more apps should do.

There are some great apps that have been built by other fellow Thunkable, which helps motivate what's possible to build.

Building a mobile app? Reasons to consider Thunkable;

- Education link with video/gif tutorials + step-by-step text guides
- Templates once you sign up/onboarded to go straight into a practice project
- Great monthly pricing

32. Appsheet

Another app builder and no code development platform available to the market is AppSheet. With over 2million+ apps created, it's certainly worth exploring to build your app. You can create apps from sources that you own including Google Sheets, Excel, Dropbox, Salesforce + more.

With AppSheet, you can build applications in minutes that can be used for anything internally within your business + other stakeholders. There are lots of custom solutions out there on the market for various processes that your company adopts, but often they lack certain features of sometimes too costly. This platform makes is affordable to build easy applications without the extra features that other tools may possess.

To see whether or not AppSheet is right for you, then you need to check out the Samples Apps section of the site. You will see examples of all the various projects you can copy and create into your own. There are various projects filtered by industry, feature and function.

I recommend checking out AppSheet for;

- Building apps internally for potentially a lower price point (of course, have to weigh up opportunity cost of time to build vs. just subscribing to a tool if already built).
- Cheap cost per active user per month
- Many projects in the sample apps section to duplicate and apply to your business

33. Memberstack

Want to build a membership based platform/community? It's going to be hard to look past a  no code development platform like Memberstack as your solution of choice. Memberstack powers over 1000+ projects already and I've heard nothing but good things (on my list to use when the right projects comes my way).

There are some big companies that use Memberstack for various membership based features including the likes of Proof, Makerpad, Alura, Codecrumbs and others. With some of the sites mentioned above, if you use Webflow or considering using Webflow, you can connect Memberstack with your Webflow project and have a membership-based platform in no time. How cool is that?

Key features, which typically take a long time if you do this through custom development, include the likes of User Signups/logins, scure payments, gated content & even API's + integrations (such as the likes of Zapier). Pretty neat platform when taking all these features into account. Additionally, they have great tutorials + articles for those new users.

Why I love Memberstack;

- It's never been easier to build a membership platform + start charging users right away
- Cheap to implement (and save heaps of time).
- Great "Pro" pricing plans combined with amazing features.. what more could you want?

34. Landbot

There are a few platforms that can help you build chatbots, but what I really like about Landbot is it's great UX and the fact you can embed intuitive chatbots directly on your website to engage with visitors + prospects.

There's lots of possibilities you can use Landbot for. You can capture leads, nurture them with personalised journeys and engage them with an experience you don't with many other websites. In the time where capturing attention of new users gets harder, this is a great option to consider testing.

Whether you're a growth marketer, startup founder or indie maker, you can build some amazing chatbot experiences using advanced features such as conditional logic, variables, calculations + formulas + even connect to databases through webhooks, etc.

Other incredible features which gets really exciting is if you're a developer or have a development team, you can integrate with Dialogflow and achieve Natual Language Processing (NLP) functionalities.. pretty cool I have to say.

On top of all this, there are plenty of pre-built templates that you can easily start with for quick implementation + testing.

Why Landbot is super cool and worth trying (if you haven't already);

- A large suite of features that will get any marketer or founder excited (even developers). Many more features that weren't included in the description above.
- A great solution for providing new engaging experiences for users (there's good reason why companies like Uber are using the platform).
- Good pricing with available features for the "Starter" plan and higher paying plans.
- Numerous templates, tutorials + academy to ensure you build amazing chatbots.

⚡ Frequently Asked Questions ⚡

What are no code tools?

As the term states, 'no code' enables startups, marketers, entrepreneurs, and creators to build applications and automated processes, without the need of writing code or having deep technical experience or knowledge. No code tools are software applications that help users build experiences which in the past have required extensive programming experience. Thanks to the rise of these tools in the past few years, most now have 'drag-and-drop' functionality, 'point and click' experiences, as well as other UX friendly features that now makes it easier more than ever to build software in a fraction of the time and cost that was required in the past.

Are no code tools the future of software development?

Yes and no. In some use cases, such as building websites or automating processes between many apps for workflows, yes they are the future in my eyes. In fact, both of these use cases are happening now with thanks to apps such as Webflow and Zapier. I think it's only going to get even better for both use cases, and many more.

As for custom applications, especially if you're looking to build a large scale startup, the answer is most likely not. Programming will always be required to build unique experiences. No code tools are great for building prototypes and processes that power businesses behind closed doors, but there will always be requirements for custom programming for startups and businesses.

What are the best no code app builders?

As you've read in this article, I tested quite a few app builders that don't require any code. Most of them are really good, and there's even more outside of this list. There are my five favourite tools that you should check out which take into account great value, great user experience and awesome features;

1. Webflow
2. Adalo
3. Bubble
4. Glide
5. Pory

What are the best no code automation tools?

Many of the platforms I've talked about have key features around automation, whether it be for marketing, operations, backend systems or building front-end design experiences.

For marketers and startups, automating processes and workflows is key to scaling systems around product and growth. A key factor in achieving scalable processes is connecting apps together so they can 'talk to each other'.

The best no code automation tools that can enable users to build simple and extensive workflows comes down to 3 which really are game changers once you master them (and that have helped me a lot over the years);

1. Zapier
2. Integromat
3. Automate.io

Once you learn at least one of these extensively, you can really change how you operate and grow your business.

Is no code really about not using any code at all?

No. In fact many platforms, whilst they describe themselves as no code platforms, do sometimes require more custom coding to get the best value from them.

The term 'low code' is something that is used to describe many tools. For these platforms, you can build a lot of functionality without code, but if you want to add more customisation or custom experiences, then you will need to add some code.
